Ordinary text wraps around by itself.
What can blow out the page margins are huge images and long URLs.
Solution: Don't post images greater than ~600 pixels in width (in deference to those still running 800x600 desktops) and use the URL tag to compress long links.
Using the URL tag is preferable to using tinyurl since, if I hover my mouse over the link created by the URL tag, I can see in advance where the link wants to take me; with a tinyurl link, it's a crapshoot.
URL tag primer:
(For the actual tag, replace the curly brackets in the example below with square brackets)
{URL=http://www.longlink.com}shortlinkname{/URL} _________________

| So there is no easy way for me to shrink images to fit the page. I would love to get the images smaller for my arctic summer topic, especially updating it the next few weeks. I have a feeling we will get some neat images, charts, etc........ |

I know tinyurl does have a feature where you can get a long link to give the heads up that Yuri mentioned.
As for pictures. I don't know how to reduce there size. Mine either fit reasonably, or I don't post them.
Sorry. Maybe somebody else knows how to fix the size of the pictures. _________________ Conservatism is a pale horse, and the riders should be called DEATH. |

Here's the procedure that I use to present smaller images:
1. Download the image to your PC. (Right-click image, then file-save-as......)
2. Use an image file utility to re-size the pic to about 500 pix wide. I select compression quality that results in a final jpeg file size of around 100KB. IrFanView is a good image viewing utility and can be downloaded for free at http://www.irfanview.com/main_download_engl.htm
3. Upload the re-sized image file to your server. If you don't have your owning hosting capability, you can use a free image hosting service like http://tinypic.com/
Yeah, it's a bit of a pain in the tookus, but it's considerate of folks with older PCs and slower Internet connections. _________________
