Folks, for some of you familiar with Hendrie, what's your political take on him?
Before 9/11 I though he was liberal or center left. After 9/11 he seemed like a right winger and that soured me on him a little. I wasn't sure if he genuinely felt that way or he was covering his a$$ because the climate in the media was so right wing at the time. |

Whichever way the radio wind is blowing and whatever gets him a job. He's more performer than political talker. When he struck it big; he was on Los Angeles station KFI which is right wing talk. Syndicated from there, felt his gimmick had reached its end, retired to pursue acting, and came back. Likely our "progressive talk" KTLK picked up the show because it was cheap and had a semi recognizable radio name.
Back in the day, his "fake topics" with "fake callers" was very amusing, but it has a shelf life. A caller asked Mike about him (He follows Mike) and he commented about him as a "one-trick-pony" whose time had come and gone. I got the impression Mike didn't think of him in terms of a political commentator. |
